GM Female Leaders Recognized on “100 Leading Women” List Today

Today, Automotive Newsreleased its list of “100 Leading Women” in the North American auto industry and GM had 16 female leaders highlighted on the list. The magazine noted that dramatic changes occurred in the industry since the last list was published five years ago. “Nearly half of the 2005 Leading Women have left the automobile business for jobs in other industries. And many have been directly affected by the financial crisis of the past few years. But the survivors are succeeding and setting high standards for executives for years to come,” Keith Crain, editor-in-chief, said.

GM women on the list were: Mary Barra, vice president, NA Human Resources; Alicia Boler-Davis, vehicle line director, vehicle chief engineer; Liz Boone, director, Advertising Strategy; Jully Burau, global vehicle chief engineer, Full Size Truck; Kimberly Brycz, executive director, Global Purchasing, Electrical Systems, Batteries/Hybrid; Catherine Clegg, vice president, Labor Relations; Kathleen Dilworth, plant manager, Flint Powertrain Operations; Amy Farmer, complex manager, Flint Consolidated; Grace Lieblein, president and managing director, GM de Mexico; Maureen Midgley, executive director, Global Paint and Polymer Engineering; Theresa Quigley, plant manager, Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly; Mary Sipes, executive director, North America Portfolio Planning and Marketing; Christine Sitek,executive director, Global ME Program Management; Diana Tremblay, vice president, Manufacturing and Labor; Carolyne Watts, president, CAMI Automotive; and Crystal Windham, director of design, Passenger Car Interior Design.

They are: Susan Docherty, vice president, GMIO Sales, Marketing and Aftersales; Denise Johnson, president and managing director, General Motors do Brasil; and Susanna Webber, vice president, Purchasing and Supply Chain, GM Europe.
